Emergency Department Performance and Administration Manager

Job summary

The post holder will provide Administrative support to the Emergency Department team and it's clinicians to deliver outstanding service and organisational performance. To support the management team with key projects and initiatives including the implementation of Healthy Weston 2 service design. The post holder will be required to support clinicians with measuring performance to ensure that operational targets can be achieved. Communications with service users and staff will be a key requirement of the role, to ensure that actions are recorded and operational benefits are measured.

Main duties of the job

  • Providing support to the ED Specialty Manager, ED Clinical Lead and Matron in the delivery of national and local performance targets.
  • Providing support to the Emergency Department with all administrative duties including specific administrative support for Healthy Weston 2.
  • To contribute towards the coordination of complaints and FOI requests for the department, ensuring they are responded to in a timely manner and liaising with all disciplines of staff both within and outside the division.
  • Provide full business co-ordination and admin provision to the management team on a day to day basis.
  • Undertake defined project work as required.
  • Support development of the administrative function and admin processes within the department by suggesting and implementing changes.
  • Provide supervision and support to administrative staff as required, including recruitment, training, education and development of the administrative staff, including apprentices.
  • To be aware of patient-flow arrangements in the division and work to achieve aims of the trust-wide patient flow projects
