Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen at University Hospital Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW), who are looking to recruit a full time Band 8b Business Manager to the Radiology service based at the Bristol Royal Infirmary.
The successful candidate will be directly responsible to the Head of Radiology Services for UHBW and work closely with the Radiologist Clinical Directors and the Operational Manager at the Weston site. The role is an integral part of the non-clinical Senior Leadership team within Radiology and will include deputising for the Head of Service as required, this will include operational management and leadership for all managerial tasks at the Bristol site.
The Radiology Business Manager will support the Head of service Radiology, Heads of imaging modalities, and performance/quality managers whilst working closely with the operational manager at the Weston site, to deliver effective, integrated, operational, quality, and financial performance for the radiology directorate across all sites.
Both the Bristol site and Weston site are accredited by Quality Standards for Imaging, and all members of the radiology service are expected and encouraged to play an active role within this.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is expected to provide proactive and visible leadership across all radiology services. This will include leadership of quality improvement, and collaboration initiatives across the Trusts sites. We require staff with a flexible approach and attitude and the commitment and passion to deliver patient focused services.
The successful candidate will need to possess a strong ability to build successful teams whilst influencing and motivating staff to deliver challenging targets through times of change.
The applicant should be able to demonstrate a portfolio of experience and/or relevant CPD, experience of statistical analysis and service design is central. - Educated to degree level or equivalent qualifications or experience
- Postgraduate (Masters) qualification or equivalent knowledge, training, and experience in Health Service Management
- Evidence of continuing professional development
Knowledge and Experience

- Minimum 2 years' experience of operational management in an NHS setting or other large public sector organisation, including accountability for a significant budget
- Knowledge of the duties imposed on the Trust by legislation, NHS policy and priorities and the requirements of corporate governance
