University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated prescription clerk to join our Stoma Care Nursing Team. This is a 28hr per week post, Band 3 based primarily at Bristol Royal Infirmary.
Applications for this post are invited from colleagues who have experience in administration, with particular regard to those with prescription management experience, although training will be given. We are looking for an individual who is flexible, dynamic, self-motivated and reliable. You should uphold excellent communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team.
Main duties of the job
The Stoma Prescription clerk will work alongside our team of Stoma Clinical Nurse Specialists, Prescribers and Admin staff in supporting patients and other organisations with Stoma Prescription management.
The role will assist the team in providing high quality and comprehensive management of prescriptions. Through triaging prescription requests using a standard format, checking and preparing prescriptions through EMIS GP and (MIME) Stoma system, in preparation for authorisation by the prescriber.
This role will also include; managing prescription review clinics, answering and logging patient calls, obtaining relevant data from Careflow EPR / EMIS GP systems and communicating with Dispensing appliance contractors, GP surgeries, Pharmacists, Nursing and Residential Homes and other organisations relating to patient's Stoma prescriptions.
