St Michael's Hospital is recruiting maternity support workers to join our team on Ward 73.

Main duties of the job

- Practice safe standards or care to patients following UHBW guidelines and policies and within the scope of the Healthcare Support Worker role.- Participate in patient assessment (with supervision) to deliver high standards of care.- Practice area specific competencies as identified by clinical area.- Under supervision follow individual patient care plans, and report any changes immediately to the Registered Nurse- Work effectively as part of a team and be able to work in 24/7 rota on Ward 73.- Actively promote self-care and independence to enable timely discharge.- Help individuals to maintain mobility and rehabilitation goals.

Essential

  • Level 3 QCF Diploma in Clinical Healthcare support/ Level 2 NVQ in Healthcare/Health & Social Care
  • GCSE A*- D in English Language or equivalent (e.g. Certificate in Adult Literacy at Level 1) and GCSE A* - D or equivalent in Mathematics (e.g. Certificate in Adult Numeracy at Level 1)
  • Care Certificate

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in a health or social care setting
  • Be able to work as a member of a team
  • Experience of time management skills and prioritising work
