Job summary

Avon Partnership Occupational Service (APOHS) are delighted to offer a full or part time flexible opportunity for an Occupational Health Nurse Specialist (OHNS), as recorded on part 3 of the Register, to work in our large, professional multidisciplinary team. The role is during office hours Monday to Friday and the post holder will be offered the opportunity to work flexibly and remotely for up to 60% of their working week, with the remainder of the week based at our offices in Whitefriars, which is in central Bristol easily accessible from the bus and train station. There may be an element of cross-site working at our other NHS sites, as well as at other non-NHS customer premises.

The post-holder will provide a full range of occupational health services including the case management of 6 cases per full-day clinic as well as time allocated to managing any line reports, professional development, and service delivery. APOHS is based at Whitefriars, next to the main hospital buildings, where staff can enjoy high quality office space, a heavily subsidised gymnasium, a cafe, and City Centre parking.

A full driving licence with use of a car for travelling and working between sites and at clients' premises is desirable for this role. Main duties of the job

  • The post holder will have lead responsibility for a specific project and/or contract
  • To support and contribute to the effective provision of a high-quality Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service to Partners and external customers.
  • The post-holder will provide clinical expertise to maintain and develop high quality, evidence based occupational health services to Partners and external customers.
  • To work autonomously and as part of the multi-disciplinary team
  • To provide line management and support to a small number of band 5 and 6 nurses
  • To undertake audit and research related to the professional development of OH nursing.
  • To maintain confidentiality in line with professional guidelines.
