An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Orthotics - operational, clinical and professional lead position. Main duties of the job

The successful individual will be accountable for the operational, clinical, professional leadership and strategic development of orthotic services; reflecting local and national developments in the provision of health services.

This is a permanent post and your base could either be Yeovil District Hospital or Musgrove Park Hospital.

You'll need to hold a degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics and demonstrate extensive experience managing people, managing governance and leading change. Candidates will need to have strong leadership skills and exhibit qualities that enable them to work across boundaries and an ability to successfully work with a range of senior leaders, both within Somerset NHS Foundation Trust as well as with system partners.

Crucial to this post is an understanding of the value of investment in people and a commitment to achieving the very best outcomes for people that use orthotic services.

  • Registered Orthotist Allied Health Professional (HCPC)
  • Masters degree or Masters level knowledge acquired through experience at this level
  • Significant post graduate learning relevant to role equivalent to at least that of a Master's degree
  • A managerial or professional qualification or formal training in a relevant field

Knowledge

  • A sound knowledge of health policies and national agenda
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of risk assessment and management of practices and procedures within a complex team/service

Experience

  • Experience of translating strategic plans and policies into operational reality
