Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to join the Older Persons Rehab Physiotherapy Team at the Royal Surrey.

The applicant must have a previous experience in the role of Physiotherapy Assistant / Physiotherapy Technical Instructor within acute NHS services. Would be ideal for someone who does not have HCPC registration.

Candidates require excellent written and spoken English as well as excellent team working skills, adaptability and flexibility.

Main duties of the job

There is a requirement for flexible working as the service operates over 7 days and bank holidays on a rostered system.

Work permits are not available for this position.

  • GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above (or equivalent).
  • Knowledge and experience equivalent to NVQ 3 in a relevant specialty i.e. Health care.

Knowledge, Experience, Skills & Capabilities

  • Relevant physiotherapy assistant experience.
  • Experience of working within the NHS.
  • Able to determine and progress a treatment plan/ goals to D/C effectively.
  • Able to perform a basic assessment according to department guidelines.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Aware of implications of confidentiality.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Ability to manage own caseload and prioritise work.
  • Be able to work on own initiative and know when tasks are out of personal scope of practice.

Desirable

  • Successful completion of PTA competencies.
  • Hospital systems knowledge.
  • Ability to problem solve and adapt to situations as they arise.
