Job summary

Together we deliver compassionate, safe care every day and we are looking for an enthusiastic, well-motivated radiographer to join and be a part of our friendly team.

As a new starter, you will be provided with a full induction program and allocated a mentor to aid your transition from being a student to a qualified radiographer. In addition, you will have a named preceptor to support you through the preceptorship program. We also have a Practice Educator to support both our students and radiographers with their training requirements.

Our band 5 training schedule includes all general areas of radiography, digital fluoroscopy and CT. Other training opportunities will be available to you as they arise. Funded opportunities for CPD are fully supported by the department and these include the IV Cannulation and Red Dot courses.

The department comprises general x-ray, A&E x-ray, MRI, Ultrasound, a fluoroscopy unit, an interventional suite, a maxillo-facial unit, and digital mammography. We have 4 CT scanners: a Siemens Somatom, a GE Revolution, a GE Evo and a GE Frontier. We also have 3 community sites at Haslemere, Milford and Cranleigh Community Hospital.

All radiographers have the opportunity to contribute to the training of our students from St Georges, University of London.

Main duties of the job

We are a 570 bed modern acute hospital situated in the historical town of Guildford. The Trust provides a comprehensive service, with national referrals to several of its specialities. We form one of the four cancer units which make up the Surrey, West Sussex and Hampshire Cancer Network.

Guildford offers excellent shopping facilities as well as numerous clubs, bars, restaurants, theatres, cinemas and a multi-sports complex. The surrounding countryside provides many village inns and outdoor pursuits.

There are excellent rail and road links to London, the south coast and major airports. A regular bus service links the hospital to the railway station and town centre.

For further information, please refer to the attached job description and person specification as any short-listed applicants will be selected and interviewed against these criteria.
