Job summary

Applications are invited for the post of Trust Practitioner in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. This is a fixed term post from September 2023 until September 2024. Dental graduates with experience in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at DCT level, Medical Graduates and dual qualified (medical & dental graduates) are encouraged to apply. Candidates must have hospital experience within a surgical speciality at FY2, DCT or CT level. The post is aimed at someone who wants to pursue a career in surgery.

There are two posts available for this role.

Main duties of the job

This is a varied and interesting job in which the post holder will take part in theatre sessions outpatient clinics and minor oral surgery under local anaesthetic. The post holder will also be expected to assist in the day-to-day care of patients on the ward. This will entail some clerking, preparation of operating lists and attendance on the daily ward round.

This post is recognised for training for the MFDS, MJDS and MRCS and is based in Guildford, with some visits to Frimley Park Hospital, Camberley and the North Hampshire Hospital, Basingstoke for outpatient clinics.
