Secondment Maternity Cover (9 - 11 months)

An eleven months secondment opportunity has arisen within our Breast Clinical Nurse Specialist Team. We are looking for Nurse with special interest in breast cancer care who would like to extend her knowledge and experience in this specialty.

Our role is to provide a holistic patient centred support to our patients (and their relatives) during their diagnosis and throughout their breast cancer treatment and their follow up care. Acting as Key Workers, within the Multidisciplinary Team, we are responsible for coordinating individual patients care. We also provide Nurse Led services such as Family History, BRCA Carrier Service, Treatment Induced Symptoms, Prosthetic Fitting and Oncoplastic Wound Clinics.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking to appoint a Registered Nurse, who has the essential experience, motivation, and communication skills. At least two years experience nursing cancer patients in a Surgical, Oncology, Research or similar area would be required. The candidates should ideally have a Degree or be working towards one in a relevant field.

Our team (of 6) is well motivated and established in a dynamic and supportive MDT, who see around 400 new cases each year There are seven breast Consultant Surgeons, and we offer a range of reconstructive surgery.
