The Practice Development Team work Trust wide supporting all levels of the nursing team to deliver high quality, evidence based, compassionate care to our patients. The team comprises of highly experienced educators who provide training and assessment for the National Care Certificate, Pre-Registration programmes, Preceptorship and ongoing skills and career development.

Main duties of the job

The Corporate Practice Development Team work across the Trust to promote the development of nursing staff and facilitate continuous improvement in the culture of care.

The post holder will:o act as a role model / professional resource, acting within the Professional Code of Conduct at all timeso support the professional development of all nursing staff.o support the development of clinical competence and evidence-based practice to ensure best possible patient outcomes and experience.o assist in the delivery of education programmes and act as a clinical role modelo work under the management of a Senior Practice Development Sister/Charge Nurse.

Advanced communication skills and successful completion of mentorship or Practice Assessor training are essential for the role when coaching, teaching, assessing and providing feedback/forward. Your clinical background and knowledge would not only contribute to the creation and review of education, but would inform the review and development of Trust governance documents which act as a framework to protect our staff and patients.

  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
  • Mentorship/Practice Assessor qualification or equivalent
  • Demonstrate post qualification or equivalent experience in nursing studies, which equates to sufficient clinical expertise

Desirable

  • Completed or on pathway for Post Graduate Certificate for Professional Education

Knowledge

Essential

  • Able to demonstrate up to date clinical credibility/ competence
  • Evidence in changing practice and project management
  • Evidence of commitment to CPD
