Community Psychiatric Nurse

Job summary

Surrey and Borders is looking for an Community Psychiatric Nurse to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care needs of a specific group of people who use our services. This role will also involve mentoring, supervising and teaching qualified and unqualified staff including students.

Location: Joseph Palmer Centre, 318a Walton Road, West Molesey KT8 2QG

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 17:00 PM

Main duties of the job

  • Undertake detailed assessments of service users needs, developing individual packages of care ensuring the delivery of effective keyworker responsibilities
  • Responsible for managing caseload and sharing best clinical practice and to initiate innovative practice using evidence based research
  • Establish therapeutic relationships and collaborative partnerships in order to ensure best working practice
  • Undertake responsibility for self-development and training updates with support from the Clinical Lead
  • Act as a role model for support workers and new team members
  • Contribute knowledge, skills and expertise to the overall performance of the team
  • Support fellow team members and maintain and develop the philosophy and values of the team
  • Promote open and clear channels of communication and be sensitive to the needs of others
