Research Fellow in Minimal Access Gynae Surgery

Job summary

Applications are invited for this Senior Clinical Fellow post in Advanced Minimal Access Surgery in Gynaecology working with Mr Andrew Kent and his team at the Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Guildford.

This post is aimed at a Senior Specialist Registrar (ST6/7) interested in pursuing a career in either Minimal Access Gynaecology or complex benign gynaecological surgery, including the treatment of severe recto-vaginal endometriosis. This post holder will also be completing on call duties within the O&G rota. It may be used as a stepping-stone to subsequent sub-specialty training. Contract starting in October 2026.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be expected to work within the minimal access team, and in close liaisonwith the other surgical specialties, particularly colorectal and urology. Significant input into our teachingand research programmes will be expected. There is additional support from the MATTU team, ourgynaecological nurse specialists and research sisters.

  • Full GMC Registration with a Licence to Practice.
  • MBBS or Equivalent.
  • MRCOG 2/3 or Equivalent.
  • 5 years in Obstetrics & Gynaecology Teaching experience.

  • Independent LH, operative laparoscopy and hysteroscopy.
