Job summary

Applications are invited for a nurse with a special interest in Research & Development (R&D), based at the Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Trust. An exciting opportunity has arisen in the surgical research team.

As a team member you will be working on cutting edge research protocols aiming to deliver research opportunities to patients and forging forward medical treatments, procedures and technologies. Ideally we are looking for a nurse with experience in any field of medicine, surgery and research, looking for a new challenge and the desire to expand their knowledge base and their career within the field of clinical research.

The post holder will be organised, have a flexible approach to work and be motivated to provide excellent clinical care with exceptional communication and organisational skills. This post is one year Fixed Term and renewal is dependent on research funding.Secondments will be considered.

Main duties of the job

The role of the Research Nurse at The Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (RSCH) involves working with multidisciplinary teams to screen patients for research studies, monitor patients during studies, assist with clinical investigations as well as the collection and documentation of accurate data.

As a band 5 research nurse you will work under the supervision of senior nursing staff and collaboratively with the multidisciplinary teams to manage a caseload of trial patients.
