Clinical Lead for Oesophago-gastric (OG) Dietetic Service

Job summary

We have a 22 month fixed term, part-time opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated person assume responsibility for the strategic leadership and coordination of dietetic services for the Oesophago-gastric (OG) patients within the geographical area covered by the Surrey-Sussex Cancer Alliance. The focus being to drive project development, streamline pathways and review service delivery across the region for patients requiring treatment for OG diagnoses.

The Dietetic Department at The Royal Surrey Hospital has an active audit and research culture, promoting clinical effectiveness in patient care. You will join a forward thinking and innovative dietetic team, which undertakes the training of A, B and C placement students, and is involved in teaching at the University of Surrey as well as supporting students with dissertation projects. Main duties of the job

The post-holder will work within our established OG dietetic team and will be based The Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford. We are looking for somebody with several years' experience in OG dietetics with a good insight and understanding of the dietetic support required for treating patients for OG diagnoses. We would like somebody who is proactive and has the initiative to develop and / or improve the efficiency of a service.

The post holder will serve as the regional lead for oesophago-gastric (OG) dietetics, advocating for the recognition and advancement of OG dietetic services at both regional and national levels. This leadership role is integral to the strategic development and delivery of high-quality nutritional care for OG patients across the Surrey-Sussex Cancer Alliance.

The post holder will be based at The Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford and assume responsibility for the strategic leadership and coordination of dietetic services for OG patients within the geographical area covered by the Surrey-Sussex Cancer Alliance. The role will also require collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, commissioners, and external partners to enhance patient pathways and outcomes. It will also support workforce development, training, and capacity building within the regional OG dietetic community.
