Are you a caring, enthusiastic and hard working person looking to make a big impact? We are looking for dedicated and caring Radiology Department assistants to support our brand new, state of the art Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) at Milford, Surrey.
The CDC Is part of Royal Surrey's continuing investment in its diagnostic capabilities and follows refurbishment of the Trust's interventional suite, MRI and X-ray facilities
This is a patient focused role. You will assist out-patients during their time in the radiology department from transferring the patients to and from the departments, greeting them on arrival, assisting with their preparation for the examinations, and helping to provide a pleasant experience.
You will also take on some admin roles which may include, booking patients in for the appointment, stock management and room preparation for both CT and MRI examinations. Training for all will be provided. You should have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team.
Please note full time and part time will be considered.
Main duties of the job
This roles provides support to the department in providing patient focused, efficient service in a caring, professional and timely manner.
The post holder will support the provision of a high quality diagnostics service to patients, visitors and staff within the Radiology Department. They will assist in the transfer of inpatients to and from the departments. They will facilitate an efficient work flow between the scanners.
The post holder will provide an efficient and friendly service for patients undergoing Radiology examinations and provide any administrative support required, to ensure
that the unit is running efficiently. They will assist with patient preparation and advise wards about anticipated In-Patient scan times. This post works closely and efficiently with the radiology team.

In liaison with the superintendent radiographers and the diagnostic radiography department assistants, provide an efficient service for all RSCH trust patients who require specialist CT, MRI and Ultrasosund investigations.
To provide an efficient and friendly support service for patients and provide assistance in transferring the patients.
Assist in the transfer of in-patient to and from the departments
You will be part of the team responsible for maintaining the high standard of cleanliness within the area of work.
Maintain adequate level of consumables and maintain the stock for smooth running of the department. Take responsibility to ensure the contrast warmer is loaded.
Assist in the maintenance of high standards of patient care especially with regard to patient privacy, dignity and confidentiality.
Welcome and assist patients in preparing for their examinations. On completion of the investigation(s) assist patient with dressing, as required and ensure patients are aware of their follow up appointments.Ensure all infection control standards are adhered to and high levels of cleanliness are maintained. Take precautionary actions to reduce the potential spread of hospital acquired infections.Contribute to the maintenance of a safe environment, within particular areas of work and provide assistance in completing necessary paperwork required.To promote a patient focused imaging service in a caring environment and facilitate collaborative working relationships with all other areas within the trust.Provide administrative and clerical support in the units as required.Deal with telephone enquiries, assist callers as appropriate, using tact and providing information and/or taking accurate messages.Ensure patients valuables are kept safely, if removed prior to examination.Must be willing to do flexible working if deemed necessary for the smooth operation of the department.Transport / escort patients and carers to and from the Radiology department, taking account of the local policies for manual handling, infection control etc. depending upon staffing levels.To be responsible / accountable for own actions.To be punctual, act in a professional manner, at all times, adhering to RSCH Trust Policies and Procedures.To ensure confidentiality and dignity of the patient is recognised and respected at all times.
