Job summary

This role leads financial planning and performance for the Ashford contract, providing business partnering, analysis, and strategic decision support. It delivers accurate, timely management reporting, supports budget holders, ensures income maximisation, drives efficiencies, mentors finance staff, and deputises for the Head of Finance in achieving HPL's financial objective.

Main duties of the job

o Support the delivery of robust financial risk ratings and contribution margin performance for the Ashford contract, driving improved financial outcomeso Provide high-quality, outward-facing management accounting and business partnering support to Ashford Divisional teams and HPL senior managemento Deliver timely, accurate, and insightful financial information to both clinical and non-clinical colleagues to inform decision-makingo Advise budget holders by explaining variances, recommending actions, and helping to prioritise resources effectivelyo Develop and provide tools, reports, and analysis that enable efficient budget management and support strategies for financial improvemento Mentor and support Finance staff and wider HPL colleagues to build financial understanding and promote value for money across the Ashford serviceo Contribute to strategic decision-making by supporting the development of team objectives aligned to HPL and contract-specific goalso Be accountable for the financial performance of the Ashford Finance contract, ensuring financial targets and contract obligations are meto Collaborate with budget holders to resolve financial issues that impact income, cost control, or service deliveryo Work closely with the wider Finance team to deliver a respected, high-performing financial service aligned to the needs of the Ashford contract

  • Educated to degree standard or equivalent, AAT qualified
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development

Desirable

  • CIMA/CCAB part qualified (Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies) or equivalent experience

Knowledge

Essential

  • Significant experience within Management Accounts gained from working varying sectors
  • Experience of finance ledger systems (including Oracle)
  • Experience of developing business cases and providing detailed robust accurate analysis
  • Experience of advising and working in partnership in a large organisation
  • Used to taking ownership and inputting into complex projects
  • Used to producing high and detailed level Finance reporting information with explanations, for purposes of the board, executive's assurance.
  • Conveying the information to various audiences
