Job summary

Are you an experienced acute clinical services manager looking to broaden your expertise and align with the future direction of healthcare? As national policy focuses on: shifting more care out of acute hospital settings and closer to home into the community; moving from treatment to prevention focus; and expanding the use of digital tools for healthcare access, this role offers a genuine opportunity to be at the forefront of delivering this transformation for our local ageing population, which is growing.

We are looking for the right person to join our Integrated Frailty Leadership Team at The Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust, which manages acute services as well as Adult Community Healthcare Services across Guildford and Waverley. To succeed in this role you will need to be a dynamic operational leader, ideally with acute clinical service management experience who is eager to expand their portfolio and develop expertise in the integration of acute and community care pathways.

Main duties of the job

Why is This the Right Role for You?

The future of NHS service delivery will require acute clinical service leaders to have experience in community-based models of care, making this an essential step in your career progression. This is a chance to shape new models of care delivery, support national priorities, and gain valuable experience in integrated system leadership.

About the Role

As Specialty Manager, you will be a key figure in our management structure, leading the operational delivery of our Integrated Frailty Services, including:

  • Single Point of Access
  • Hospital at Home
  • Urgent Community Response
  • Frailty Same Day Emergency Care
  • Milford Integrated Care Hub

Your role will involve:

  • Bridging the gap between acute and community services, ensuring seamless care transitions.
  • Leading service delivery, performance, and transformation within a rapidly evolving landscape.
  • Overseeing multidisciplinary teams working across the frailty pathway.
  • Monitoring and managing planned and unplanned activity, budgets, and resources.
  • Driving innovative service models to enhance patient outcomes and system efficiency

Recognising that our 5000 colleagues are our greatest strength, we offer a comprehensive health and wellbeing program along with a commitment to developing and advancing your career. Our diverse and welcoming Royal Surrey family will ensure you that you feel valued from your initial interview through your entire tenure.

We are clinically led and provide joined up care by bridging the gap between hospital and community services alongside regional specialist cancer care. Our main acute hospital site is in Guildford with community hospital sites at Milford, Haslemere and Cranleigh. We provide adult community health services in homes across Guildford and Waverley.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) have given us an overall rating of Outstanding.

Royal Surrey has a strong reputation and history to build on. We are proud of our achievements and we are investing in our colleagues through our commitment to supporting professional development as well as investing more than £45 million in our physical environment and new equipment in the next few years. There has never been a better time to join us.

Although it isn't the Trusts normal practice, adverts may close early, so you are encouraged to submit an application as soon as possible.
