Job summary

Surrey and Sussex Cancer Alliance are excited to be recruiting for a Programme Manager to support the Lead Nurse portfolio and lead on the personalised care programme.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative and dynamic team responsible for cancer services across Surrey and Sussex. The Surrey and Sussex Cancer Alliance is a partnership that brings together leaders from different hospital trusts and other health and social organisation and covers a population of approx. 3.1 million people. Our aim is to improve the diagnosis and treatment and care outcomes for cancer patients in Surrey and Sussex.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for highly motivated and experienced individual who will lead a range of initiatives that will improve and transform outcomes and experience for cancer patients across Surrey and Sussex. In addition, they will work with system leaders from across all sectors of health to drive forward evidenced based and clinically led improvements and embed best practice within pathways.

You will develop an excellent relationship with clinical and administrative leadership and multi-disciplinary teams across the region to enable delivery of programmes of work that improve cancer services.

The Alliance offices are based in Guildford, with travel when necessary across Surrey and Sussex. Flexible working and secondments will be considered.

Desirable

  • Formal programme management training qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, Managing Successful Programmes)

Knowledge and Skills

  • Leadership and project management skills including change management

Desirable

  • Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of the background to and aims of current cancer policy and experience of implementing cancer policy within providers or Commissioner environments
  • Experience of developing and implementing policies and procedures related to cancer care across multiple NHS organisations
