Job summary
Royal Surrey Cancer Centre is the specialist cancer unit based at the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust Hospital. Established in 1996 and serving a population of approximately 2 million across Surrey and West Sussex, it is highly regarded for the excellent care it provides and for its work with the University of Surrey and major pharmaceutical companies in conducting vital research to support the development of new cancer treatments.
Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Royal Surrey Cancer Centre for a Systemic and Supportive Anti- Cancer Therapies (SACT) Co-ordinator. The post holder will hold a key role within a multi-professional Oncology services team whose priority is to Co-ordinate the provision of all systemic anticancer treatments to Cancer Centre service users, ensuring treatments are available at the point of use before their planned administration time. Communicate service related information effectively with all those involved in the chemotherapy pathway to ensure the best possible experience for patients and the most efficient service for staff. Ensuring that patients receive their treatment at their allocated appointment time. You will be responsible for liaising with the MDT to ensure that this process happens efficiently and effectively.
We are seeking a committed, dynamic, motivated individual with an interest in developing and improving Oncology services, who also has exceptional communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, along with the aptitude for working independently, to join a dedicated and cohesive team within this specialty.
The post-holder will be required to have a wide range of IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Varian Aria System Database. Previous Pharmacy and Administrative experience within an Oncology / NHS environment would be an advantage, although opportunities for personal and professional development within the role are available.
