The Royal Surrey is very proud to have an enthusiastic and dynamic team in the unit of Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics & Restorative Dentistry who share a common goal in these aligned medical and dental specialties. This allows us to provide excellent clinical care alongside promoting and supporting the professional development of senior and junior colleagues throughout the unit.
Through quality improvement and transformation, we are constantly working to improve the services that we offer both at The Royal Surrey as well as in our peripheral units that we serve in the wider regional area.
We look forward to your application and hope we can soon welcome you to our team.
Main duties of the job
The focus of this role will be to meet a growing demand within an established tertiary Skin cancer treatment unit.
All of the senior staff within the department have sub-specialist interests and leadership roles within the department as well as the wider trust. These include regional and national roles in post-graduate training, examinerships for the Royal Colleges for ISFE and specialty membership exams and regular involvement in post-graduate training for both maxillofacial and dental specialist trainees. The department has developed and published optimised pathways for the enhanced recovery for head and neck cancer patients and is also involved in current work around digital treatment planning and workflows to enhance surgical outcomes and case planning.
