We have an excellent opportunity for a Band 6 radiographer to join our friendly and supportive team and expand your clinical expertise. We have a new radiology management team & so this really is an exciting time to come and work with us.
We have an Excellent Preceptorship programme to help new recruits not just to get to know the department but also get to know the area where the hospital is based. All radiographers and IV cannulation and Red Dot courses will be encouraged as standard for this post.
The main department comprises of 5 general rooms, a 2 room A+E department, 2 MRI scanners, ultrasound department, digital fluoroscopy, Interventional suite, maxillo-facial unit and 2 Hologic tomosynthesis units. We have 4 CT scanners.
We open our CDC in Milford opening next year & opened our beautiful new MRI suite in Nov 2022; our new Interventional suite in January 2023 and extended our community diagnostic facilities with additional ultrasound rooms in May 2023.
Main duties of the job
As well as the main hospital you will rotate to our 3 community sites based at Haslemere, Milford and Cranleigh Community Hospitals. In April 24 we have a new community diagnostic centre opening in Milford with 2 new Siemens MRI scanners and 1 new GE CT scanner.
Our Band 6 rotation includes all general areas, theatres, maxillo - facial, fluoroscopy, Interventional and CT. There will be opportunities to rotate through MRI, Mammography and the Cardiac Cath Lab.

To work as part of a multidisciplinary team that undertakes diagnostic radiographic procedures in a timely fashion in keeping with established protocol, within designated areas. To participate in on-call duties and extended working days as required with a view to participating in the 7 day working week. Work independently when providing an on-call service to patients requiring urgent imaging due to trauma or acute illness. Demonstrate levels of responsibility and initiative to assist radiologists during radiological investigations and procedures. Maintain accurate patient records to reflect the service provided and meet professional standards. Supervise junior radiographers, support ancillary staff and students, as required. To promote a patient focused imaging service in a caring environment and facilitate collaborative working relationships with all other departments within the trust. Demonstrate, maintain & update skills & knowledge of evolving practice & legislative requirements and undertake specialist training as appropriate to the post.

We have an established radiographer led CT colonography service and have 9 qualified reporting advanced practitioners and a Radiographer Clinical Lead for AI. We have a number of our radiographers on advanced practice pathways including ultrasound and mammography interventional and film reading courses with a number of radiographers working towards being a consultant.
