Job summary
In-patient Physiotherapy assistant
Full-time position 37.5 hours per week. Flexible working or other part time hours would be considered.
We have an opportunity for a physiotherapy assistant to join our friendly in-patient therapy team working on the inpatient wards at Haslemere Community hospital in Surrey. We are a supportive and experienced team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Rehabilitation Assistants.
You will be a key member of the physiotherapy team and will work under supervision and guidance of qualified physiotherapists to provide exercise and mobility rehabilitation, and assist with administrative tasks and information gathering.
Main duties of the job
We work with people, with a wide range of complex conditions, who require further rehabilitation prior to being discharged home or to suitable alternative environments. We are an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team and work closely together to plan the safe discharge of people to their homes.
We are looking for someone who likes working with people and has great listening and communication skills. Experience in healthcare or rehabilitation would be an advantage, however we would welcome someone who is enthusiastic, has a strong desire to learn and is keen to work with the physiotherapy team to provide an excellent service.
Full training will be provided to ensure you are supported and a competency framework will be used to ensure you have the appropriate skills to assist with physiotherapy treatments. We offer regular formal and informal supervision, and in house training.
We value the importance of continuous improvement culture across our teams to provide high quality care to our service users. You will be expected to contribute to the on-going development of clinical practice, standards, research as well as policies, protocols, guidelines and service development.
Currently the team operate a five day service, but in accordance with other services, seven day working is a possibility in the future.
