Job summary
One clinical fellow post is available from August 2024 for an initial period of six months with the option to extend this period at mutual agreement. Applicants should be ST 6-7 or Clinical-CCT Anaesthetists with the FRCA (or equivalent) and have an interest in perioperative medicine and pre-operative risk assessment. The aim of this fellowship is to provide the applicant with experience in all aspects of perioperative medicine in preparation for pursuing this interest as consultant and the post has been designed to meet the criteria for advanced training.
Main duties of the job
Alongside the clinical experience available in theatres, this post would provide training and experience in all other aspects of perioperative medicine including:
Preoperative optimization, risk stratification and shared decision making
Quality improvement in intraoperative care
Analgesic modalities for major surgery
Postoperative care
Audit and Research
