Job summary
Have you worked in histology and understand the complexity of histology samples? Are you able to prioritise work and able to communicate effectively with senior consultants? If the answer is yes then you might be interested in joining our team as Allocations Manager.We have a modern and spacious laboratory and of course, you'll be joining our friendly and supportive team.

Main duties of the job
What we can offer:

The post will be based at the RSCH in Guildford, the hub BSPS site for Surrey
37.5 hours per week - flexible working options may be considered but this requires on site working at the Surrey Histology Hub in Guildford

Job responsibilities
The role primarily involves overseeing the leave roster for the medical workforce, effectively managing the allocation of laboratory samples to consultants based on their college points and allocation to outsourcing providers utilizing a dynamic and agile approach and the effective escalation of issues that arise along the allocations pipeline.
The post holder will be responsible for the effective allocation of laboratory samples to consultants, ensuring adherence to college points criteria. This role involves dynamic allocation strategies, the allocating of samples with a dynamic approach based on varying capacity and demand both in the lab and within the consultant group and will have a commitment to optimising allocation processes.
The post holder will assist the laboratory senior management team by monitoring clinical workforce availability by maintaining a leave rota derived from the site-specific leave management sources and escalate issues in a timely manner, providing a clear and documented overview of any shortfalls in capacity inclusive of options for mitigation.
The post holder will managing outsourcing provision including packaging of material for outsourcing, completion of traceability documentation in relation to outsourcing.
The post holder will exhibit robust communication skills, showcasing the capacity to engage in negotiations, exert influence, and cultivate relationships with clinical, laboratory and managerial teams within the BSPS network.
