Job summary
This post will provide training in general and specialist ophthalmology in both an outpatient & theatre setting, particularly in the field of glaucoma and retinal disease. Basic surgical skills are advantageous, although further supervised surgical training will be available. Is it expected that the position holder will join the current non-residential on call rota.
Main duties of the job
The appointee will be required to work with their colleagues in providing a service in Ophthalmology that is of a high quality, and which meets the government set waiting list targets and the Trusts quality standards.
The appointee will be expected to take a full and active role in the training of junior doctors, nursing and ancillary staff, both within the department and outside. The appointee will be required to actively participate in providing first class clinical governance.
