Job summary

Thank you for your interest in our post of Consultant ENT Surgeon with a special interest in Otology.

We are seeking a Consultant ENT surgeon to join an established department, with an interest in Otology, based at the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust (RSFT). The focus of the role will initially be to reduce waiting times for general ENT patients and then later support the growing demand on the Otology service.

The Department is a regional hub for Head & Neck Surgery and runs a 'Hub & Spoke' arrangement with Ashford & St Peters Foundation Hospital Trust (ASPH) for general and paediatric ENT. This allows us to provide excellent clinical care alongside promoting and supporting the professional development of senior and junior colleagues throughout the unit.

The post holder will be expected to comply with recommendations contained within relevant Good Practice Guidelines including those published by the Royal College of Surgeons and GMC.

We look forward to your application and hope we can soon welcome you to our team.

Main duties of the job

In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, to provide a service in the management of Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery and otology and to play a full part in the out-of-hours On Call service for ENT Surgery

It is expected there will be a 1:8 on call commitment which will be shared with other members of the ENT Department at the Royal Surrey County Hospital and with the networked services provided by ASPH. This attracts an on call availability supplement of 5% and 1PA.
