Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Sister post at Haslemere Hospital. Haslemere Hospital is a 16 bed rehab unit. We have two wards: Godwin and Elizabeth.

Supported by the other junior sisters / charge nurses & senior sister, you will be responsible for the running of the shift and delivery of care, working closely with the multi-disciplinary team.

We are looking for a dynamic person, wanting to expand their current skills and progress through the management career path. We are searching for a natural leader with drive, enthusiasm and commitment to achieve high standards of nursing care, as well as our goals and aspirations for the future. We have fantastic opportunities for training and career development and will support additional training to help develop the right candidate to reach their potential.

Main duties of the job

The applicant absolutely must be flexible to work a range of shifts both days and nights and be able to inspire the team to make positive changes which will better patient care and staff morale. An understanding of the trusts values, true north objectives and achieving excellence program would be beneficial for this role, in addition to knowledge on how Quality Improvement can be used to enhance patient care.

Free transport to and from Guildford can be arranged if required and free parking is available on site.

  • Recent post qualification or equivalent experience in acute setting
  • Demonstrates professional updating of knowledge in past one/two years

Desirable

  • Teaching qualification ENB 998 or City & Guilds 730 or equivalent
  • First degree
  • D32/33 [A1]NVQ Assessors Award

Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience at Band 5 or above within acute hospital setting
  • Can demonstrate up-to-date clinical credibility / competence
  • Evidence of advanced skills in practice i.e. iv additives, cannulation and venepuncture
