Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a Smoking Cessation Co-ordinator to join the Smoking Cessation team.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who's role
will involve face to face mainly ward based communication, working closely with all staff and establishing and maintaining a robust, accessible and flexible support team for Staff and Patients.
Previous experience/knowledge of smoking issues essential
Hours can be flexible.
Main duties of the job
Write reports and maintain Smoking Cessation pathway plans, including electronic data storage, and other appropriate records, accurately, legibly and concisely.
Maintain accurate and complete records of all care activities related to the role, in a timely manner, adhering to local and professional standards for documentation.
Have an oversight of nationally requested inpatient data to NHS Digital relating to the tackling tobacco dependence programme and smoking cessation intervention.
Use Information Technology, to improve and inform practice in relation to the Smoking Cessation programme.
Undertake research into new ways of working and develop guidelines that are current and reflect national guidance in relation to the tackling tobacco dependence programme and smoking cessation intervention.
Comply with, and contribute to, quality standards and guidelines, and take part in Clinical Governance, and Research and Development initiatives and the tackling tobacco dependence programme and smoking cessation intervention.
Liaise effectively with Clinical Managers, highlighting areas of concern in a timely fashion and acting where appropriate to reduce concern.
Work closely with external agencies, stakeholders, and all staff to provide a culture that is developmental, flexible, and supportive.
Attend and contribute to appropriate stakeholder meetings and events related to the programme. Ensuring information is effectively communicated to the rest of the team.
