Job summary
We are looking to appoint a Locum Consultant Radiologist with a special interest in breast imaging to cover maternity leave. The job plan will include breast image reporting, localisations, ultrasound and biopsies, breast MRI and some cross sectional imaging sessions at RSCH.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to support the breast imaging service with a variety of tasks including film reading, biopsies, localisations and ultrasound. The post will include general cross sectional imaging at The Royal Surrey County. You may be required to take an active part in the teaching of junior medical staff, radiographers, medical students and nursing staff.

Clinical
- Works in accordance with Ionising Radiations (Medical Equipment) Regulations 2000 observing Radiation Standard OperatingProcedures, Trust policies, Departmental Protocols and Local Rules.
- The appointee will be expected to take a significant role in the provision of breast imaging including MRI reporting and breast interventional procedures.
- Other fixed duties will include regular attendance and participation in the breast MDT meetings.
- The provision of general cross sectional imaging sessions will be part of the job requirement.
- In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, to ensure that the requirements of clinical governance are met.
- To ensure that there are adequate arrangements for hospital staff involved in the care of your patients to be able to contact you when necessary.
- Junior Medical Staff:
- In conjunction with colleagues, to play a full part in the professional supervision and management of junior medical staff.
- In conjunction with colleagues, to take responsibility for and devote time to teaching, examination and accreditation duties as required for junior medical staff.
- Management & Service Development:
- In conjunction with management and clinical colleagues, to take an active role in the management of the Business Unit.
- In conjunction with management and clinical colleagues, to play a full part in developing & implementing new ways of working in linewith modernisation principles and fit for the future.
