Job summary
We have a Lived Experience Development Worker role in our Emotion Regulation Pathway to work across our Living Well & Derby Wellbeing community teams in Derbyshire with a focus on supporting the delivery of effective interventions for people with complex emotional needs (CEN).
Covering various locations across Derbyshire including: Killamarsh, Bolsover, Chesterfield, Ripley, Ilkeston, Buxton, Matlock, Ashbourne Derby and Swadlincote.
In the ERP (Emotion Regulation Pathway) we work with people with complex emotional needs, who may be diagnosed with 'Borderline Personality Disorder'. We use evidence-based interventions to support people who have problems in regulating emotions, impulsivity and interpersonal relationships using evidence-based approaches.
The role offers opportunities to co-develop and deliver peer support in the ERP. This post will support the ongoing success of bringing the expertise of people with lived experience into our Living Well teams; specifically by bringing that expertise into our pathway for people with complex emotional needs.

Main duties of the job
The Lived Experience Development Worker is someone with their own experience of mental health challenges who can use this understanding to support ERP service development and help others with self-management, recovery, connection and engagement.
The Lived Experience Development Worker joins the ERP and will have a central role in raising the profile and voice of people with lived experience of CEN. They will help to evaluate, co-produce and develop ERP offers and support the delivery of CEN peer support. They will be involved in wider peer networks and trust wide training and co-production of services. The post holder will ensure high quality, effective, peer support is delivered in the ERP. They will work with a small caseload providing peer support to people with CEN and provide ongoing support to recruit and retain a small team of peer support workers in the ERP. They will actively manage their workload, effectively and efficiently prioritising competing demands. They will be committed to multidisciplinary team working, have relationship building skills, able to manage variable demands and be capable of supporting a small, team, dispersed across a large geographical area.
As a member of the Derbyshire Healthcare Foundation NHS Trust team, the post holder will be expected to reflect the values and key behaviours of the organisation, adopt the policies and philosophy of the service and provide interventions based on the recovery philosophy.
