CAMHS Specialist Assessment Senior Practitioner

Job summary

We are looking to recruit an experienced practitioner to take on the lead role in the CAMHS Specialist Assessment team, conducting ASD and ADHD assessments for children and young people up to the age of 18, with a comorbid significant mental health concern.

This team conducts all Neuro-developmental assessments for the CAMHS Service line using a range of recognised assessment tools including Qb, ADIR and ADOS. It is essential that the successful candidate is already trained in these tools and has experience of delivering them.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the delivery of this area of the service including waiting list and referral management, clinical leadership and line management of junior staff working in the team.

The post is based in Derby City but referrals are received from across South Derbyshire. Assessments are conducted virtually and face to face dependant on individual need.

The Community Care Pathway works with children and young people with a range of mental health needs, including trauma, anxiety disorders, mood disorders and self harm.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to clinically lead and operationally deliver the ND assessment team withing CAMHS. Delivery and oversight of tools including ADIR, ADOS, DAWBA, Qb and other recognised screening tools.

This will include the following: recruitment and selection of staff, induction, training, supervision and appraisals, sickness and other absence, contribute to disciplinary and grievance processes, personal and career development, the team's workload, managing and overseeing waiting lists, allocation and individual caseload management.
