We have a vacancy for a Safeguarding Advisor in the Safeguarding Team based at Kingsway House, Derby.
We are looking for a practitioner to undertake duty on a Monday, Thursday and Friday, 9-5, office based.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for:
A practitioner who will promote good professional practice in safeguarding children, young people and their families and vulnerable adults by providing a source of advice and expertise for front line staff working within DHCFT.
18 months or more experience at Band 7 or above.
You will provide specialist expert advice within the DHCFT and all relevant agencies, e.g. Social Care, Police, etc.
To participate in a Duty System to provide safeguarding advice and guidance within a Think Family framework to staff members regarding child and adult related matters.
To undertake research and attend S47 strategy discussions at the request of Derby and Derbyshire Children's Social Care.
To work collaboratively with the Named and Designated Professionals.
Sound knowledge, understanding and able to promote 'Think Family' principles and practice.

Someone experienced in sharing of information, analysis and making decisions re: safeguarding thresholds, professional challenge and curiosity.
An understanding of local safeguarding procedures, knowledge of thresholds and experience of strategy meetings.

To search for, collate, share appropriately, and analyse health information forchildren and adults.
Previous experience in working with children and families in the community.
A committed, compassionate practitioner who understands the emotional impact and sensitivity of safeguarding work.
Relevant experience of working with vulnerable families initiating safeguarding procedures.
Understanding of working with complex family and challenging situations.
