Assistant Psychologist - Eating Disorders

Job summary

This post will involve providing a range of evidence-based care and interventions to service users within the eating disorders service to support recovery.

The post holder will also be involved in service evaluation and audit under the supervision of clinical psychologists within the team .

They will participate in the provision of specialist assessments and use of outcome measures alongside team members may also be required.

The team can provide opportunities to participate in supervision and relevant training across a range of areas.

The post will be based in Belper, although covers all of Derbyshire, so some travel will be required.

Main duties of the job

We have a new opportunity within our Eating Disorder Service for an Assistant Psychologist to join our multi-disciplinary team for a period of 12 months.

The role is varied and provides scope to develop further skills and knowledge of working with service users experiencing an eating disorder and associated mental health difficulties.

There will be opportunities to link in with the Trust's clinical psychology structure and Assistant Psychologists working in other clinical areas.

Qualifications/Training

Essential

  • Honours degree, 2.1 or above in Psychology
  • Eligible for graduate membership of BPS

Desirable

  • Further post graduate training in relevant areas of practice

Knowledge/Experience

  • Relevant work experience in a care setting

  • Previous experience as an Assistant Psycologist
  • Experience related to mental health
