Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new Head of Procurement who will be responsible for proactively and consistently ensuring that an effective and efficient procurement service is provided across the Trust.
You will, where appropriate identify and implement innovative solutions to support the organisation's strategic development and embed the Procurement Strategy.
The post holder will be based at the Kingsway Campus/working from home and be responsible for the management and performance of a small Team who also work on hybrid basis.
Whilst the role of Head of Procurement requires the individual to work with and lead others, it also requires an element of autonomous working to continuously drive the department forward.
The post holder is expected to contribute to the sharing of best practice within the Procurement department, required to adopt a flexible attitude and develop skills to enable them to fulfil their responsibilities.
This is both a challenging and rewarding role which will give the successful applicant an opportunity to work as part of a team, engaging with clinical and non-clinical staff, and organisations external tothe Trust, in order to provide high quality procurement service.

Main duties of the job
You has managerial, professional and technical responsibility for delivery of procurement services to the Trust and achieving the financial performance and requirements of the Trust in terms of value for money and supporting social value and green plan. This will include the development and management of contracts for goods and services and the provision of professional advice to internal stakeholders within the Trust.
You will ensure efficiency and cost effectiveness of the service, which will be strongly customer-focused and will meet set performance targets. He/she will have full responsibility for establishing systems to:
a) Properly manage and provide procurement of goods and services;b) Contract management relative to clinical/non-clinical services purchased by DHcFT.c) Undertake strategic planning to achieve implementation of change in line with local and national policies and initiatives.d) Provide and manage a professional purchasing service to the Trust, contributing to the development and achievement of the Trust procurement strategy and work plan.e) Provide a strong effective professional management focus leading to the achievement of agreed targets, efficiencies and added value initiatives.
