This is new and fantastic opportunity to join an established multi-disciplinary team working with those with forensic mental health needs in Derbyshire.
This consultant Multi Professional AC (MPAC) post is an exciting new role within the Trust and Derbyshire. It is an amazing opportunity to shape the service as it continues to develop, taking a key leadership role within this specialist team.
The team have a unique clinical model, with engagement and recovery at the centre of its care and risk management. The successful candidate will work alongside a well-established and supportive clinical team that includes a Consultant Psychiatrists, Nurses, OTs, Engagement workers, Specialty Doctors and Psychology.
The MPAC Consultant will provide strong, visible clinical leadership within the growing Forensic Community Mental Health Team (FCMHT) and provide expert guidance and support to other areas of the organisation around forensic mental health and associated issues. The service sits within the Forensic and Rehabilitation Directorate working closely internally with other teams in the division and with external agencies including MAPPA, probation, secure care services and social care.
Main duties of the job
The role requires you to be a registered Approved Clinician or in the process of working towards this and with a core professional nursing qualification.
The role requires expert clinical knowledge in the assessment, risk management and care of those with forensic mental health needs. They will provide strong, visible clinical leadership within the Forensic Community Mental Health team, and support the wider Forensic and Rehab division.
The post holder will carry a distinct clinical caseload as AC / RC and offer highly specialised forensic clinical care specific to the caseload, using advanced clinical knowledge that is evidenced based and within their specific professional skill set.

You will carry a clinical caseload and will be the Responsible Clinician for those under your care where required. The post holder will ensure that patients on their caseload always receive person centred care delivered through a trauma lens and are managed safely, effectively and with compassion. As the Responsible Clinician you will lead, coordinate and deliver care and complete all statutory duties required, including the management of restricted patients in the community under Part 3 of the MHA.
There will also be a requirement to contribute to further service development, audit, quality improvement and setting of clinical standards and governance within the Division and beyond.
