Permanent Post 0.8 wte In Adult Learning Disability Services North Derbyshire
30 hours/week, negotiable
This is an exciting post for an experienced psychologist working within Adult Learning Disability Services, to work in the DP&PT in the Learning Disability Community Support Team (0.6 wte) and the Intensive Support Team (0.2 wte) in North Derbyshire. The post holder will be a key contributor to the development of psychological services provided to the local population of adults with learning disabilities and/or autism.
This post involves working with the Lead Psychologists in adult neurodevelopmental and learning disability services to develop a joined up approach across the Derbyshire County. You will work alongside the Lead Psychologist , other registered psychologists, counsellors and assistant psychologists to provide psychological understandings within the multi-disciplinary team and service.
We are looking to recruit a registered clinical psychologist who will actively contribute to the service's progression and ongoing development.
This post sits within the Division of Psychology & Psychological Therapies and services for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism in North Derbyshire. It involves working alongside a range of experienced psychologists within the DP&PT whilst embedded within the MDTs of Adult Neurodevelopmental Services.
The post will link the Psychology Teams sitting in the North and South of Derbyshire .
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate must have an enthusiasm and experience of working with adults with learning disabilities and/or autism and experience of service development.
You will need to work flexibly both directly in clinical settings and through remote contact with clients, carers and colleagues.
You will need to be able to meet the travel requirements of the post and have access to a private and secure space for remote working practices.

Qualifications and Registration
Essential
- Post-graduate doctorate in Clinical Psychology as accredited by the BPS /HCPC including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan development psychology
- Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, eligible for chartered status with the BPS, post qualification training in supervision
Desirable
- Post qualifications in area of specialty e.g., a specific therapeutic intervention.
Experience
Essential
- Extensive experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist in a relevant clinical speciality including at a highly specialist level
- Experience of specialist psychological practice with clients across a broad range of settings including experience of working with clients with learning disabilities and/or autism with a range of complex difficulties
- Working with multidisciplinary staff teams to support the delivery of therapeutic care and experience of working across team and interagency working
- Highly specialist assessment and therapeutic skills related to complex, severe and enduring psychological problems experienced by adults with learning disabilities and/or autism and additional complex needs including communication difficulties, sensory difficulties, comorbid mental health and complex/challenging behaviour
