An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced OT to take on the role of Community OT Lead within Living Well Derbyshire, supporting the development of the 'ageless' element of this offer.
We are looking for someone with an excellent understanding of mental illness within older people and the complexities that issues such as frailty and isolation bring.
The successful candidate will work alongside the existing Older Peoples Community OT Lead, supporting the transformation and development across Derbyshire.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable knowledge and experience of evidence-based models of OT practice and their application into mental health services; and how this applies to the aims of the Community Mental Health Framework and the National AHPs Deliver Strategy.
The ability to lead with a positive attitude towards the change process is essential.
The successful candidate will receive robust supervision, support and guidance from the Area Service Managers and the Occupational Therapy Lead and Professional Lead for Community Services.
Main duties of the job
- To be responsible for the planning and delivery of the new CMH Framework and engagement with VCSE (Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprises) developing collaborative working with mental health specific VCSE and winder community partners. To lead an asset-based community development approach within and across CMHT's / Living Well Teams.
- To ensure the consistency of the OT offer within community services.
- To support in the management of complex cases as part of the MAT.
- To provide professional leadership to the community OT workforce including recruitment, supervision and development of these staff within the multidisciplinary context, supporting operationally where required.
- To provide specialist Occupational Therapy input to planning, development and evaluation of services within the community teams, holding responsibility for defined projects including development of the OT workforce, engagement with local communities and stakeholders, as well as service delivery.
- To work collaboratively with peer support and recovery services ensuring engagement and partnership working.
- To develop new ways of working and new OT roles within community settings to enhance service need and improve quality of care.
