Then a Pharmacy Support worker (Pharmacy Assistant) post within the pharmacy team at Kingsway Hospital Derby is just for you!

This role is being advertised due to progression of the existing post holders.

This post holder will work within the pharmacy operational team supplying medicines to wards and teams within Derbyshire Healthcare Foundation Trust and if not already obtained be supported by a registered pharmacy technician to study towards an NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services.

On completion of the NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services and in-house progression training plan there will be the option to work as a Pharmacy Support Worker Higher Level.

Main duties of the job

The role will include working in the Dispensary and the Distribution, Procurement and Stores (SDP) team.

Assembly of resuscitation boxes

Support the Clozapine service by ensuring prescriptions are ready for distribution

Receiving, Assembling and distributing medicines.

If the candidate has a NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Sevices or studying towards other duties will include:

Dispensing pharmacy medicines and checking of stock medicines

Procuring medicines and maintaining stocks.

Checking of supplier statements and following up invoice and credit payments.

Visiting wards and teams on an adhoc basis to carry out stock top up and stock audits if needed.
