Job summary
We are thrilled to be able to offer the opportunity for someone to join Team Derbyshire Healthcare as a Communications Assistant in the award-winning Communications and Engagement team.
Working as part of an enthusiastic, driven, and friendly team you will help provide a comprehensive and high-quality administrative package, supporting the smooth running of the service.
As Communication Assistant, you should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write clear and accurate information, and be able to take initiative and problem solve appropriately.
The role requires you to be able to organise and prioritise your own day to day work, manage conflicting priorities, organise your workload effectively and to meet deadlines.

Main duties of the job
The post holder's primary day-to-day duties will be to:
Provide a comprehensive range of IT/office duties, including responsibility for the Communications and Engagement generic inbox
Provide media monitoring support, to check for coverage of our stories in online, print and broadcast media and help to collate regular media summaries
Deal with incoming and outgoing post according to policy guidelines to ensure an efficient communication process within the Trust
Maintaining databases and distribution lists
Update the Trust's website and intranet and monitor the Trust's social media platforms
Attend meetings/events as requested to support the communications team
Diary management of the senior communications team members and wider Trust engagement events, sending out invites and agendas and keeping a record of actions
Book venues for team meetings and staff events
Work with members of the communications team on ad-hoc projects and initiatives
To ensure the cost effective use of resources
Source quotations from suppliers
Support with basic design and video work
Updating noticeboards
