An exciting opportunity has arisen, for a permanent Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Team Leader to work for Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Trust covering the south of Derbyshire within the community mental health teams.
Our Employment Specialists are based in:
- Amber Valley
- Erewash
- Derby City
- Swadlincote
The IPS employment model is internationally recognised as the most effective way to support people with mental health problems to gain and keep paid employment.
The team is a mix of new and experienced employment specialists requiring face to face support on a group and individual basis. The team consists of 9 employment specialists but is likely to increase to 10. As Team Leader you will supervise the team, by being organised, engaging, personable, listening, providing training, caseload management, support with employer engagement, observe appointments, spot checking data. You will be an inspiring leader with strong decision making skills, excellent presentation skills and able to organise regular engaging team meetings and training sessions.
You will provide a pivotal role in managing a high-quality service that meets fidelity standards and delivers positive outcomes for service users.
Main duties of the job

- Effectively manage a high-quality service that adheres to the principles of IPS best
- Monitor and manage performance of the IPS Employment Specialists guide them individually on best practice and achieving individual and team job outcome targets.
- Create a culture of continuous improvement
- Identify training needs of staff and arrange appropriate training to support with continuous professional development.
- Support the design and delivery of in-house staff training and development (including facilitating peer learning and best practice).
- Involve service users in co-production of service developments
- Coordinate the work of Employment Specialists in a region in relation to building relationships with employers to effectively access the hidden labour market, external agencies and delivery of job seeking groups.
- Potential to manage a small caseload of between 5-10 service users at any one
- Identify barriers for service excellence and work with internal and external stakeholders to implement solutions to ensure a high-fidelity service.
- Provide solution focused monthly supervisions for each employment specialist within the team, including caseload management.

Relationship Management

- Spend time getting to know local employers, to negotiate job opportunities that meet each individuals strengths, needs, abilities and preferences.
- Provide education and support to employers, as agreed with the individual, which may include negotiating adjustments, return to work strategy and on-going contact with the employer to ensure job retention.
- To develop effective working relationships with a range of external agencies who can help individuals to achieve their employment goals. This may include local colleges and training providers.

- Undertake mandatory training as required, including training in the IPS approach
