We seek two Band 5 Occupational Therapists to join our rotation. We have current vacancies in our Paediatric Therapy team in Derby City and in the Derby City Adults of Working Age Community Mental Health Team (CMHT).

In the Paediatric Therapy team, you will be joining our 0-19 locality team covering Derby City and South Derbyshire.

This is a friendly supportive team comprising of Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists who are based in the City at St Paul's House.

The rotational posts are for a 12-month period to enable you to complete your preceptorship if needed.

The other areas currently on the rotation are Older Adult Day Services, Low Secure Forensics and Acute Inpatient Adult Mental Health, which you would have the choice to rotate into after 12 months.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will:

  • Assess and treat children and young people with physical impairments which impact on their occupational performance.
  • See children in clinic, home or school settings as appropriate.
  • Travel across sites during the day, ideally a car user.
  • Cover the Derby City area based at St Andrew's House, in the CMHT.
  • Work with people to assess their occupational and functional needs, to provide therapeutic interventions that support the individual's recovery and are committed to delivering high quality, person-centred care as part of a friendly and supportive multi-agency team.
  • Facilitate group work, home assessments and 1:1 work, risk screening and safety planning, partnership working and Wellness and Recovery planning.
  • Assess and supporting adults with mental health conditions who live within their local community.
  • Have access to regular supervision, preceptorship support, CPD (Continuing Professional Development) activities, training, and be an important part of the wider OT workforce.
