We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative experienced Clinical Psychologist to work 1 WTE and lead on the development and provision of a new high-quality gambling clinic to serve the East Midlands.

You will be a leading member of the multi-disciplinary team, working alongside the consultant psychiatrist and operational lead.

You will provide advice, consultation and supervision to other Clinical Psychologists and multidisciplinary colleagues working within the service alongside clinical delivery of a case load.

Main duties of the job

We are excited to offer this 8b role which provides an excellent opportunity for an experienced Psychologist to further develop and consolidate their skills working within the specialist area of Gambling harm.

You will be a senior Clinical Psychologist within the Division and will provide both a leadership and development role alongside a clinical one.

You will provide an expert clinical service through individual and/or group work, as well as provide advice, consultation and supervision to other multidisciplinary colleagues working within the service.

You will have excellent relationship-building skills and abilities to manage varied work demands.

Managed within the profession, you will be joining a committed team of highly-skilled Clinical Psychologists, working within Adult Services and a wide network of Psychologists, working in other specialties across the Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Trust.

Within the Psychological Therapies Service, we have clinicians with training and experience in a range of therapeutic models including ISTDP, MBT, ACT, CFT, Systemic therapy, CAT, EMDR.

There are multiple opportunities for peer support, specialist supervision groups (eg therapy models, dissociation, EMDR, neuropsychology) and regular CPD events.

We have excellent links with local Clinical Psychology Training Courses and provide regular placements and teaching.

Things are changing and developing rapidly to improve care for services users in Derbyshire.

  • Post-graduate doctorate in Clinical Psychology as accredited by the BPS /HCPC including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan development psychology
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, eligible for chartered status with the BPS, post qualification training in supervision

Desirable

  • Trained and experienced in the completion of psychological assessment, risk assessments and other related psychometrics

Experience

Essential

  • Extensive experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist in a relevant clinical speciality including at a highly specialist level
  • Experience of specialist psychological practice with clients across a broad range of settings
  • Working with multidisciplinary staff teams to support the delivery of therapeutic care and experience of working across team and interagency working

Desirable

  • Experience of psychological clinical leadership and planning, supervising the work of a multidisciplinary team and holding clinical leadership roles and responsibilities
  • Expertise and interest in a specialist area relevant to the client group
  • Experience and skills in adapting knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies and methodologies to adults with an addiction support need
