Ward Based Pharmacy Support Worker
Band 2/3
Monday - Friday
(Evening/Weekend & Bank Holiday working on a rotational basis)

Main duties of the job
Every day is different, but you will:o Review prescriptions and provide timely medication supplies to inpatients.o Prioritise urgent discharge prescriptions to help patients get home safely and efficiently.o Support medicines optimisation by making the best use of patients' own medicines.o Recognise and safely handle controlled drugs brought in by patients.o Check patients own medication, ensuring they are stored, labelled, and used correctly.o Use a range of electronic systems confidently to keep records accurate and up to date.

NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services is essential for this role, candidates without this qualification will be appointed at Band 2 and will progress to Band 3 on completion of the qualification. Previous experience in dispensing is not necessary as full training will be given.
