The provision of exodontia and comprehensive dental care under general anaesthetic supporting Senior Dental Officers/Specialists.
Main duties of the job

Toprovide high quality urgent and routine oral health care to patients attending BTH Dental Services including assessment, diagnosis, treatmentplanningand the full range of mandatory services in line with PDS Regulations and the current Service Specification. This includes working with and under the clinical leadership of Specialists in Paediatric Dentistry andSpecialCare Dentistry.

BTH Dental Services offers high-quality routine and urgent dental care for patients referred for special care and paediatric needs, as well as those directed from Lancashire Call Handling Service. Services include inhalation sedation, domiciliary care for eligible housebound patients, and support for exodontia and comprehensive dental treatments under general anaesthetic alongside senior dental staff and specialists. The team provides full oral health carecovering assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and all mandatory servicesaligned with PDS Regulations and service specifications, working closely with specialists in paediatric and special care dentistry. Preventative advice follows the Delivering Better Oral Health (DBOH) guidelines, and the service participates in national campaigns to improve oral health and reduce inequalities. Staff collaborate with other professionals to ensure patients receive the right care, use skill mix for efficiency, and manage complex cases involving medical co-morbidities or multidisciplinary input.
