As a Porter, you could be moving:
- patients on beds
- stores and equipment
- samples of patients' blood
- post and parcels
- linen and waste
- cylinders of gas
- food and drink
You'll be a part of the portering team and will have contact with clinical and non-clinical staff. As you'll be coming into contact with such a wide range of people and environments you must be:
- friendly and helpful
- calm and reassuring
- physically fit for lifting, walking, pushing, etc.
- reliable and happy to work flexible, variable hours
- willing to work with staff and patients of all ages and from all walks of life
- health and safety aware
- able to follow instructions carefully
- an excellent communicator
- highly organised
