Job summary
The Lancashire Cardiac Centre at Blackpool is a tertiary centre provider for heart & lung treatment for the people of Lancashire & South Cumbria. We are looking to recruit a Pacing Services Manager for a fixed 12-month term. The post holder should be a highly experience and knowledgeable Cardiac Physiologist specialising in Pacing and/or Electrophysiology. They will work alongside the other specialist service managers within the Cardiac Investigations Unit undertaking day to day responsibility for the cardiac rhythm management services.
The successful candidate will work as part of the highly specialised team of cardiac physiologists, nursing and doctors developing device patient services. The primary purpose of this role will be to develop our remote services to support the needed clinic capacity. We are a busy, but friendly team, who work closely together to innovate and look at delivering a great patient experience.
We undertake over Electrophysiology studies & ablations including complex multi site mapping for arrhythmias. We implant over 900 pacemaker, Implantable Defibrillator systems, Cardiac Resynchronisation Therapies and loop recorders. All Pacemaker and ICD procedures are supported by physiologist follow-up patient clinics and remote services monitoring. You will have extensive experience in Pacing and / or EP and hold BHRS qualifications or Equivalent and possess BSc in clinical physiology or equivalent and be on the AHCS register.
Main duties of the job
To autonomously manage, co-ordinate and direct all activities associated with the Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) Service (Pacemakers, Implantable cardioverter defibrillators, Cardiac resynchronisation Therapy devices and Implantable loop recorders) in the Lancashire Cardiac Centre at Blackpool Victoria Hospital. Will be responsible for the specialised cardiac physiologists within the CRM specialty. To be the device expert technical lead for the Lancashire and South Cumbria (LSC) region and develop patient pathways and protocols for service delivery. The post holder will be expected to deliver a high quality, safe and effective device service by working with the relevant stakeholders to achieve cost effective procurement across the CRM budget. The postholder will be an highly experienced, knowledgeable and skilled cardiac physiologist working as an independently practitioner to directly deliver patient care and well-being for the patients across LSC.
