This is an exciting post that is designed for a FY3/CT1-2/ST1-2 level trainee to develop and expand skills and practice in Medical Education.
For August 2024, 2 of our roles will be split between Intensive Care Medicine and Medical Education.
There will be another 2 roles available which can be part time in Medical Education with a chosen specialty or full time in Medical Education. Flexible working opportunities available which can be discussed at interview.

- Develop/ expand skills and practice in Medical Education.
- Be supported in gaining a qualification in Medical Education.

The job will allow the successful post holder to undertake focused training in Medical Education. During this time the following requirements should be met.
- The prime focus is on supporting medical students on placement from The University of Liverpool and Lancaster University to meet their clinical curriculum standards.
- In addition, there will be a focus on simulation support for the multi-professional teaching programme which includes Locally Employed Doctors, Advanced Clinical Practitioners and Physician Associates.
- The postholder will be expected to learn about synthesis of existing evidence, development of new programmes including assessment of impact of that programme and its sustainability.
- Research and develop at least one educational initiative.

- Medical degree (MBBS, MBChB)
- Completion of Foundation equivalent (FACD or equivalent) and 2 further years at ST1/2 level with evidence of satisfactory progress appropriate to level of training, in an appropriate specialty.
- Completion of appropriate Royal college exams for that level of training in that specialty.
Experience & Knowledge
Essential
- Established record of teaching and interest in education
- Evidence of completion/finishing in audits or research projects
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
