This Degree has been designed to prepare you not only for an academic qualification, but also to become a qualified health professional. The honours degree programme extends over 3 academic years and involves face to face academic learning as well as on-the-job training. The degree uses the Institute for Apprenticeship's standard for Occupational Therapists and ensures that the knowledge, skills and behaviours are developed throughout all levels of the programme. Graduates from this programme are eligible to apply for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council and become qualified Occupational Therapists. Both the academic and practice-based components of the programme are integrated to reflect current practice, based on the best available evidence. The integration is facilitated by a problem-solving, student-centred approach to learning that is designed to equip you with the life-long learning skills necessary for the continued professional development required following graduation.
