Job summary

The post holder will work as part of the Practice Education Team and will provide support to the Practice Education Facilitator (PEF) - Post-graduate Lead on all aspects for the delivery of the Preceptorship Programme for all Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) and Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) newly registered or return-to-practice (RTP) professionals at BTHT.

The post holder will be aware of the local, regional, or national documents which require expertise within the scope of their duties and responsibilities. The post holder will be expected to work independently and autonomously, seeking advice form PEF's, Placement Hub team or the Practice Education Lead where required. They will seek continued professional development opportunities for their own practice for the purpose of their role.

Main duties of the job

Preceptorship Programme

Support the delivery of a high standard and quality Preceptorship Programme to meet the National Quality Framework(s) for all NMC and HCPC registered professionals with BTHT.

Facilitate the delivery of classroom-based teaching to NMC and HCPC registered staff on the Preceptorship Programme.

Facilitate evaluation of all aspects of the Preceptorship Programme and liaise with the Preceptorship Lead for quality improvement to the programme and their experience.

Preceptee Support

Provide pastural support and supervision to preceptees across all professions.

Facilitate a smooth transition to their clinical area and provide support in adapting to their new role and responsibilities, ensuring safety is maintained.

Provide coaching support to registrants with topics discussed to build their resilience and skills as early career professionals. These may require advice in relation to care of patients/service relational to the topics being delivered.

Recruitment and retention

Support recruitment events for newly qualified professions coordinated by the practice education team.

Work in conjunction with the practice education team for a smooth transition between undergraduate and qualified professional
